Found an interesting job offer? Before you decide, find out what the job will look like in practice. A conversation with a recruiter is a good opportunity to learn the details and clear up any doubts. Here is what you should ask.
1. What will my daily duties be?
A job title does not always tell the whole story. Ask what tasks you will do and whether the job involves operating machines, lifting heavy loads or previous experience. This will make it easier to judge whether the offer matches your abilities.
2. How does the pay work?
Check whether the rate is hourly or monthly and whether it is quoted gross or net. Ask about the payday, the rules for bonuses and how overtime is paid. If the offer gives a pay range, ask what determines the amount.
3. What contract is being offered?
Ask about the type of contract, the length of employment and who you will sign it with. Ask to see the text in advance. If any clause is unclear, get it explained before you sign.
4. What hours will I work?
Find out how many shifts the plant runs and whether the work includes nights and weekends. It is also worth asking when you will receive your schedule and how many hours are planned. This will help you plan your commute and your life outside work.
5. How are transport and accommodation arranged?
If the offer includes transport or housing, find out the terms. Ask about the costs, the distance from the plant and how many people share a room. Also check whether transport is available for every shift and whether there is an extra charge.
6. How does onboarding work?
Ask who will show you your workstation and explain how to do the tasks. Find out whether previous experience is required and how the training works. If your Polish is not good, check which language instructions will be given in.
7. Who can I turn to once I have started?
It is worth knowing in advance who to contact about your schedule, pay or accommodation. Ask whether you will have your coordinator’s contact details and at what times you can get help.
Prepare your questions and make an informed decision

Before the conversation, write down your most important questions, and note the answers during the meeting. Ask for the key terms to be confirmed in a message or in writing. Knowing the offer well makes for a calm start in your new job.
